Thanks to our long-time partner the USA Swimming Foundation, Pool Safely had the exciting opportunity to share water safety messaging at the U.S. Olympics Trials for swimming in Omaha, Neb.
During our four days in the Omaha Convention Center’s Aqua Zone, Pool Safely team members educated attendees, collected more than 1,400 Pool Safely Pledges and handed out hundreds of Water Watcher cards. Former Olympic swimmers Scott Usher and Nicole Kramer took the Pledge, along with members of the Omaha Police, swimmers from our partner organization KATY Aquatics and Olympic Trials competitor Connor Hoppe.
One of Pool Safely’s long-time partners, The Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation, was also a part of the Olympic Trials with a booth in the Aqua Zone, alongside the USA Swimming Foundation and CPSC. The Foundation held story time twice a day, reading Josh the Baby Otter to children in the Aqua Zone and talking about water safety. They also handed out thousands of educational materials during the week, including hand fans, magnets, coloring sheets and other water safety information materials.
Thank you to the USA Swimming Foundation for this important opportunity to raise awareness about drowning prevention among parents and children on the national stage.
Join these Olympic swimmers and more than 37,000 others and take the Pool Safely Pledge.
