This report presents annual estimates of the number of emergency department-treated, pool- or spa-related, nonfatal drownings (submersion injuries) that occurred between 2017 and 2019, involving children younger than 15 years of age. The report also sets forth the counts of reported pool- or spa-related fatal drownings (submersion fatalities) that happened between 2015 and 2017, to children younger than 15 years of age.
